Trials UK Oset Cup Gears Up For The Season
TRIALS UK OSET CUP GEARS UP FOR SEASON AHEAD
10 April 2012 - The Trials UK OSET Cup is all set to deliver an outstanding 2012 e-class championship. The flagship, Yorkshire-based series will attract youngsters from across the UK and is aimed at riders of all abilities.
There are seven rounds, with the six best results counting towards the final championship standings. Each event will have a rider of the day, goody bags and participant medals.
Nige Pearson from Trials UK, said: "There will be something for everyone at our events, so no matter whether this is your first time on a bike or you're an accomplished rider for your age these events will suit you.
"Although the e-class is a beginner series aimed at four to six year olds, if you're brand new to electric bikes and trials, no matter what your age, you're more than welcome to come and have some fun and ride with us."
The Trials UK OSET Cup will be run at Horsforth DMC events. The first round takes place at Greenhow, 22nd April at 11am. Located 15 miles from Harrogate directions can be downloaded from the Horsforth DMC website.
The best e-class riders have signed up to take part in the championship. 6 year old Dominic Horne is in great form fresh off the back of convincing victories at Ripon and Richmond. Fearless welshman Lewis Hurdsman, is looking forward to competing hard along with talented newcomers Harry McLoughlin and Monte Andrew. Preston youngster Ryan Shepherd and Aiden Simpson from Leyburn are both totally capable of winning the championship. While five year old Myles Hutchinson and Charlie Crossland have both taken a quantum leap after moving up to the 16" OSET. All in all, the championship is in no way a forgone conclusion and is set to be fiercely fought, with no doubt a number of surprises throughout the season.
Nige Pearson added: "With such a range of abilities within the age group we will provide three routes at every round - easy, for the absolute beginners, an intermediate route and a hard route. In addition, all of the sections will be taped out to help keep the riders focused."
A season highlight will include a Trials UK, OSET weekender at Tong on the outskirts of Bradford in September. The weekend event will consist of two e-class trials, expert tuition, fun and games for the children and an opportunity for families to relax and reflect on the championship whilst camping. The 100 acre site will also host the C & D and also the Ladies British Championships during the same weekend.
Barry Huskinson from OSET, said: "We'll be competing at some fantastic venues and working with Trials UK, means OSET can help deliver an e-class championship that will be enjoyed by everyone. It's the perfect event to come along to if you're brand new to trials whilst providing a challenge for more experienced riders."
