Trials Blog - Moving on up (to 50/50?)

Again, sorry that it's been so long since my last blog post. I'm officially drowning in work, but I'm doing all I can to make time to ride.mikedeerpark1.jpg

Fitting in time to write about it (and finding something of interest to write about) is proving challenging.

Anyhooo... in this month's trials extravaganza - *riding up bloody big hills and steep banks*, *stepping up a level to 50/50*, *Rick/Russ-watch*, *nose wheelies & my knackers*.

CLICE trials gear competition results

Here are the winners from the competition to win the superb c2516redsmall.jpgnew trials gear from top manufacturer CLICE. With the help of Malcolm Rathmell Sport, Trials UK put up for grabs this top quality riding gear for one lucky person to win.

Again it was a massive entry but we managed to narrow it down to a list of about 136 correct answers.

Trials Blog - Me and my big mouth

Firstly, I'm having a really busy time with work right now, so apologies that my blog posts are so far apart. I'll try to give you a quick update on the last couple of weeks, then explain the utter tonking I received in today's trial from Rick. (Yay for Rick-Watch fans - today's a biggie!). For those eager spud watchers, it's bad news again as I think the knacker-whacking season is over. My spuds are intact and, for the first time in a long time, disappointingly un-swollen.

Best put the kettle on and get comfy, cos this is going to be a long 'un.

Trials Blog - Bog Riding

There's something about Yorkshire in the winter time. Without doubt,it's a beautiful part of the world, with an endless supply of gorgeous rolling countryside and stunning views, but the ground offers trials riders a remarkable challenge between the months of December and April - you see, it's part porridge.

Trials Blog - Catching Up

A slightly belated Happy New Year to readers of the blog. Time really does fly and I'm ashamed to say that it's been weeks since my last blog, so apologies. Anyhoo, there's plenty to tell you about in this one.

To give you a swift executive summary of this blog - me and my world of indecisiveness, Killer's Christmas trial, Sheffield Indoor madness.

Trials Blog - My Best Yet

It seems an age since I wrote my last blog - and it is. It's been over a month, but in that time I have hardly been able to ride, largely due to the adversesimondeerpark.jpg weather we've been having here in the UK, and particularly up North. I could have written about the snowball fights we had, the snowman we made in the garden (with breasts, much to the amusement of my 15 year old son) or the fun I've had trying to drive in 12 inches of snow, but I didn't think anyone would be interested.

Trials Blog - Gas Gas pants

Last weekend I attended the Trials UK Sherco open day at Harefield Hall in Pateley Bridge (photos of the event at http://www.trialsuk.co.uk/gallery/2010-sherco-test-day). What a superb place to hold such an event! The hotel sits on a slope with a wooded hill to one side and a terraced slope to the other. The main car park was awash with blue and yellow adorned marquees as Malcolm Rathmell Sports (MRS) and their UK wide dealerships literally took over the whole building. The thing that really stood out though was me in my bright red Gas Gas riding pants (my blue ones were in the wash, so I was left standing out like a sore thumb in my red Gasser ones!)

Trials Blog - Champ Trial

First off, I'm delighted to say that my knackers are fine this week. Quite surprising really, given that this weekend I stepped up a level and competed in a championship trial.

Trials Blog - A Bag of 5s

Good news - Those interested in Rick-watch or those who follow spud-watch are in for a treat today - more on that later. First, I need to bring you all up to speed with what's happening in my world of trials riding.

The trial I participated in some weeks ago at Addingham Moorside (the first one back after breaking my toe) was a revelation. Not only did I do quite well in the trial (I am definately getting more competent), but I had the pleasure of being 'minded' by our Chris

Trials Blog - Duh!

Shall we have a quick game of "Spot the Cock"?

Yep, that's right - it's me. I am officially the cock of the week/month/year. Why? Because for 6 weeks I've been out with a badly broken toe, 9 toe nails; 1 of which was hanging by a thread and the kind of pain that can only be described as 'intense'. Who would have thought that such a small bone could cause so much pain.
