Y&G Mackenzie Oset Trial 2011

Electrics Storm the MacKenzie

As the lightening cracked and the thunder quite literally roared, dsc8109.jpg25 E-class riders braved the stormy conditions to compete in Yeadon Guiseley DMC's showcase event, the MacKenzie Trial at Brimham Rocks.

Young riders from all over the UK completed three laps of five individually observed and taped sections. And being scored by punch cards really made it a stand out event for the boys and girls.

Trials Blog - Catching Up

A slightly belated Happy New Year to readers of the blog. Time really does fly and I'm ashamed to say that it's been weeks since my last blog, so apologies. Anyhoo, there's plenty to tell you about in this one.

To give you a swift executive summary of this blog - me and my world of indecisiveness, Killer's Christmas trial, Sheffield Indoor madness.

Trials Blog - My Best Yet

It seems an age since I wrote my last blog - and it is. It's been over a month, but in that time I have hardly been able to ride, largely due to the adversesimondeerpark.jpg weather we've been having here in the UK, and particularly up North. I could have written about the snowball fights we had, the snowman we made in the garden (with breasts, much to the amusement of my 15 year old son) or the fun I've had trying to drive in 12 inches of snow, but I didn't think anyone would be interested.

ACU Youth Classes for 2011

Youth Riders:

A rider must be at least 4 years of age to participate on a restricted Electric powered machine and 6 years of age to participate in a trial using a combustion engine machine.

They may continue to ride as a Youth until the end of the calendar year that he reaches 17 years of age.

A rider who has reached 16 years but who is eligible as stated above to continue as a Youth may ride either as an Adult or as a Youth and alternate between them unless they choose to compete in the Adult British Solo Trials Championship.

ACU 2011 DRAFT FIXTURE LIST

Want to see how the major trials of 2011 are currently pencilled in? Then have a look HERE.

Please be aware that dates can and probably will be adjusted/moved over the next few months, but this will give an idea of the current arrangements in place.

This is for your information only and you should check with the ACU before making any firm arrangements. Trials UK accept no responsibility for errors or omissions in the list.

Trials Blog - A Bag of 5s

Good news - Those interested in Rick-watch or those who follow spud-watch are in for a treat today - more on that later. First, I need to bring you all up to speed with what's happening in my world of trials riding.

The trial I participated in some weeks ago at Addingham Moorside (the first one back after breaking my toe) was a revelation. Not only did I do quite well in the trial (I am definately getting more competent), but I had the pleasure of being 'minded' by our Chris

Trials Blog - Shiny Pegs

I've discovered a great way to make the pegs on your bike shine, without actually touching them - and mine are absolutely gleaming.

Trials Blog - Practice Makes Injury

Whilst looking into trials riding on Google I had stumbled across a venue in Tong just outside Bradford.  Parkwood 4x4 centre – a specialist off-road training centre for 4x4 vehicles - occasionally opened its doors to trials riders and its 100 acres of woodland is nothing shy of a haven for trials riders.
